Newly released project. First published on GitHub in November 2025. Not yet seen to be widely used in the community. Check its validation before relying on it.
Python (NumPy) adaptation of loudness models from the Auditory Modeling Toolbox (AMT), written as a second-year student project at Mines School of Nancy: the stationary model of Moore, Glasberg & Baer (1997) and the time-varying model of Glasberg & Moore (2002).

What it implements
| Metric | Edition | Functions | Validation (as stated) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moore–Glasberg loudness | Moore, Glasberg & Baer (1997) | model.moore1997, equalSones.getEqualSones | standard or paper data also compared with AMT (its source) | new |
| Time-varying loudness (Moore–Glasberg–Schlittenlacher) | Glasberg & Moore (2002) | model.glasberg2002 | not stated | new Present in the code but not described in the implementation document. |
How it was validated
As reported by the project; LISQM has not run the code. Two implementations that agree can still share the same error. Kinds of evidence.
- Moore–Glasberg loudness · Moore, Glasberg & Baer (1997)
standard or paper data also compared with AMT (its source)
Ported or adapted from AMT. It was compared with the code it was ported from, which checks the port only.
- The implementation document says the model is compared with the results shown in the original article (plots of its Fig. 8 and Fig. 12).
- Numerical error reports (PDF) compare intermediate arrays, such as the outer- and middle-ear filter, with AMT's MATLAB output.
Not stated for Time-varying loudness (Moore–Glasberg–Schlittenlacher) · Glasberg & Moore (2002).
Notes
- The implementation document says the Moore (1997) model is "the same code as the amt-toolbox one"; the data preparation follows AMT's Glasberg (2002) data function.
- GitHub labels the repository TypeScript because of the React/Vite user interface in UI/Model_UI; the models are Python.
Before you rely on it
- No licence file, so reuse is not permitted by default.
- The implementation document describes only the Moore (1997) model as implemented;
glasberg2002is in the code (with data/Glasberg2002.json) but not documented.
