## How it was validated

As reported by the project; LISQM has not run the code. Two implementations that agree can still share the same error.

- [Zwicker loudness](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/loudness-zwicker.html), ISO 532-1:2017: standard or paper data; also compared with **[MoSQITo](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/projects/mosqito.html)** (its source)
  - Ported or adapted from **[MoSQITo](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/projects/mosqito.html)**. It was compared with the code it was ported from, which checks the port only.
  - Unit tests ported from MoSQITo compare stationary loudness with ISO 532-1 Annex B values.
  - Every public function is compared with the output of Python MoSQITo for seven WAV files (three of them ISO 532-1 test signals), within 1 % (0.5 dB for levels).
- [Sottek Hearing Model loudness](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/loudness-ecma-418-2.html), ECMA-418-2:2022 (2nd ed.); [Sharpness](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/sharpness.html), DIN 45692:2009; [Roughness (Daniel & Weber)](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/roughness-daniel-weber.html), Daniel & Weber (1997); [Sottek Hearing Model roughness](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/roughness-ecma-418-2.html), ECMA-418-2:2022 (2nd ed.); [Tone-to-noise ratio and prominence ratio](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/metrics/tone-to-noise-prominence-ratio.html), ECMA-74:2019 (17th ed.): compared with **[MoSQITo](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/projects/mosqito.html)** (its source)
  - Ported or adapted from **[MoSQITo](https://zhenxianli.github.io/LISQM/projects/mosqito.html)**. It was compared with the code it was ported from, which checks the port only.
  - Every public function is compared with the output of Python MoSQITo for seven WAV files (three of them ISO 532-1 test signals), within 1 % (0.5 dB for levels); MoSQITo's unit tests are ported too.

Not stated for Equal-loudness contours · ISO 226:2003.

## Before you compare numbers

Implementations of the same metric can give different numbers without either being wrong. Check these choices first.

- Time-varying loudness and ECMA-418-2 roughness resample input at any other rate to 48 kHz, and stationary loudness resamples rates below 48 kHz; MoSQITo rejects rates above 48 kHz for time-varying loudness.

## Notes

- First commit on 2026-04-16; 16 commits, the latest on 2026-06-07. There is no GitHub release.
- Also ports MoSQITo's speech intelligibility index (ANSI S3.5), which is outside the scope of this list.

## Before you rely on it

- Very new and not yet seen to be widely used in the community; the README asks users to validate results against their own reference data before relying on them.
- Its ECMA-418-2 functions follow the 2nd edition (2022), two editions behind the current one, as in MoSQITo.
